The business benefits

Why choose Skills For Industry? As every successful business manager knows, a well-trained, competent and fully-motivated workforce is a huge asset to any organisation.

Your business will stand or fall on the skills of your staff. Skills for Industry 2 can help you enhance their skills, so that they are equipped to identify new market opportunities, able to recognise change as an opportunity - not a threat, and have the knowledge to drive through sustained business growth.

At Skill For Industry 2, each partner college specialise in providing effective workforce training programmes at your workplace that are the best in the area, even better news, is they can also help you to get substantial funding towards your training costs through the Skills For Industry scheme.

To meet the training requirements of every member of your team, Skills for Industry 2 is divided into two strands (S01 and S02). S01 targets those staff with low or no qualifications and is geared to helping them train up to Level 2. S02 is designed to help and develop members of your team who require higher level skills in technical and job specific skills to train at Level 3 and above.

The training is demand led, totally focused on the individual requirements of your team and delivered at a time and place convenient to your business. Suitable staff will be identified for the programme, and a training plan implemented that will increase generic, technical and transferable skills at all levels - from Entry Level 1 to Level 6 - right across the workforce. The training will help ensure that your workforce is equipped with the job specific skills needed to nurture growth, increase productivity and drive up profit.

By being sharply focused on the individual needs of every employee, Skills for Industry 2 can help you to:

  • Overcome any specific labour market and recruitment challenges by raising technical and job specific skills from within.
  • Tackle the skills gaps in your team and make sure your entire operation is more productive from top to bottom.
  • Upskill members of the team who are underqualified and / or underperforming
  • Refresh existing skills across the board to ensure the skills of all your staff remain relevant to your business needs.
  • Inspire, motivate and provide clear career progression frameworks for staff

Skills for Industry 2 is a funded operation supported by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government. It is part of a pan-Wales operation designed to enhance skills and increase productivity in the workplace, providing opportunities for employers to gain accredited qualifications for their workforce.
